Well, another LPGA Tournament has just wrapped up, and Ha Na Jang has just won a cool $300,000! The LPGA Fubon Taiwan Championship has some surprises just as most tournaments do, but Jang's performance on Round 4 was just shy of being overtaken by 2nd place Shanshan Feng who actually had a simply incredible round.
Many wonderful memories were created at the 2016 Rio Olympics, including in the world of golf. In fact, South Korea's Inbee Park is now the first woman in 116 years to win a gold medal in golf. Park had the same score as men's gold medalist Justin Rose with 72 holes at 16 under. The silver medal was won by Lydia Ko who holed a 7-foot birdie putt at the last hole, allowing her to finish 11 and under. Then, China's Shanshan Feng shot 69 for 10 and took the bronze. The Women's USA Olympic Golf Team sadly were just shy of the bronze.
Not only has this been a historic year for golf, but the play itself has been nothing short of astounding. Stacy Lewis started out at the top of the leader board with great hope bringing home the Gold for the USA, but after an awful round of golf will find it hard to regain a medal position - but as we all know, it's not over until it's over. She now sits tied for 8th place going into Round 4, but Gerina Piller for the US captured the Bronze position.
Before this weeks PGA RBC Heritage Tournament comes to it's end today, I just want to talk for a quick minute about last weeks Masters 4th round on Sunday. Well, this year at Augusta National, The Masters tournament was not only unexpected but a bit sad to watch the final day. Not to take away anything at all from Danny Willett, but to see Jordan Spieth implode made my heart sink.
